God gives his children peace

John 14:27

 

God does not want his children to be in torment or be afraid of the circumstances of this world, or doubt concerning the world to come.

See John 14:1. 

 

I John 4:18 – Perfect love casteth out fear.

Mark 4:39 – Christ rebuked the sea by saying, “Peace, be still.” 

John 5:20 – Christ gave peace in the midst of the storm when his disciples were obeying his Word.

John 16:33 – We will have tribulation in this world, but in Christ, we will have peace.

Luke 23:36 – When the two disciples returned from Emmaus, Christ stood in the midst of them, and said “Peace be unto you.”

John 20:19 – The first Sunday of the resurrection, Christ gave his disciples peace.

John 20:21 – Jesus gave them peace again.

John 20:26 – The next Sunday, he gave them peace again.

Acts 10:36 – Peter preached peace through Jesus Christ to Cornelius and his household.

Luke 11:13 – God will give the Holy Spirit to those that ask him – if they will ask!

John 11:35 – Jesus wept, not because he loved Lazarus, but because he was troubled at the unbelief of those that was closest to him.

Matthew 14:27 – When Jesus came to the disciples during the storm on the Sea of Galilee, and they were afraid because they did not know who he was, he said, “Be of good cheer, it is I; be not afraid.”  Jesus did not have to tell them his name; they recognized him by his voice, as we should.

Ø      Ephesians 2:14 – He is our peace.

Ø      Ephesians 6:23 – Peace to the brothers.

Ø      Colossians 1:2 – Peace from God.

Ø      Colossians 3:15, 16 – Let the peace of God rule in your hearts.
