How Can I Be
Faithful To Christ And His Teachings?
Romans 7:4 - Wherefore, my brethren, ye
also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married
to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth
fruit unto God.
This is something every saved person wants to do. Many saved people do not understand how to be faithful.
I. Explain salvation.
A.
Rom. 7:4
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are
become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to
another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth
fruit unto God.
II. Explain baptism.
III. Faithfulness is in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A. The church is the body of Christ.
1.
Col. 1:24
Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for
his body's sake, which is the church:
2.
Eph. 1:22,23 - And hath put all
things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the
church, 23
Which is his body, the fulness of
him that filleth all in all.
3.
Rom. 12:5
So we, being many, are one body in
Christ, and every one members one of another.
4.
1Co 12:12
For as the body is one, and hath many
members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also
is Christ.
5.
1Co 12:27
Now ye are the body of Christ, and
members in particular.
B. Being faithful to the church is more than just attending the church services.
1.
Eph 4:12
For the perfecting of the saints, for the
work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
2.
Eph 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife,
even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
a. It is as impossible to be faithful to the institution of marriage without being faithful to your husband or wife.
b. The person who states they are faithful to the institution of marriage will be free to commit adultery with every other person who is married.
c. There is no adultery with your own husband or wife.
C. Taking the Lord’s Supper together.
1. 1Co 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
