Blood Redemption
Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
There is a line of blood from Genesis to Revelation.
Genesis 3:15 - Prophecy of blood to be shed by Christ.
Genesis 3:21 - Coats of skins necessitated the shedding of blood of an innocent animal.
Genesis 4:3-8 – The Sacrifice of Cain and Abel.
Genesis 8:20-22 – Noah offered sacrifices after the flood.
Exodus 12:3 - The Passover Lamb - innocent for sin.
Exodus 34:19,20 - An innocent lamb substituted for the donkey.
The law required an innocent (best) animal to shed its blood for the sins of the people.
Exodus 12:12-33 - (Verse 13) - Blood on the doorposts.
The blood was a token.
Not the real thing, but a symbol of that which was to come.
If there is no application of the blood to the doorposts, it will do no good.
If there is no application of the blood to our sins, it will do no good.
It is not that the blood is ineffectual, but God’s instructions weren’t followed.
Numbers 21:4-9 - The brazen Serpent is a symbol of Jesus Christ, who will save.
Leviticus 16:15-20,21 - Lay hands on head of scapegoat.
Three animals were chosen.
A bullock for the sin offering of Aaron,
Two goats – one as a sacrifice, and the other as a scapegoat.
All these animal sacrifices are insufficient to cleanse from sin.
Hebrews 10:3 – There is a remembrance of sins each year.
Hebrews 10:4 – It is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sin.
Hebrews 10:6 – God is not satisfied with burnt offerings and sacrifice.
Hebrews 10:10 – It is through the body of Jesus Christ that our sins are washed away.
Hebrews 10:11-14 – The High Priest stood and offered many sacrifices, but Christ offered one sacrifice, then sat down because the work was finished.
Christ offered himself one time and we are cleansed.
The qualifications of Christ.
Matthew 1:18 - Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Verse 25 - And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Luke 1:34,35 (virgin, verse 27)
The word "crucify" - the crown of thorns - the many beatings.
John 19:34 - Blood and water from His side.
Romans 5:9 - Justified by His blood (He was innocent).

Isaiah 7:14 - Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Immanuel means “God with us”.
The sacrifice provided by God is himself, in the form of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 9:12-14 - Christ took His own blood into the Holy Place in heaven.
Ephesians 1:7 - Redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13,14 – Delivered us from darkness, given us redemption through His blood.
Pure blood - Born of a virgin.
Matthew 1:18-25 – The story of the birth of Christ.
Luke 1:26-35 – Gabriel comes to the virgin Mary.
Revelation 5:1-7 - The innocent Lamb slain could open the book and pronounce judgment upon the earth.
